Mrs. Susanna Burch Yancey, 91, of Boydton, died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Hundley Annex, South Hill. She was a devoted member of Boydton Baptist Church and a previous social columnist with The News-Progress and the South Hill Enterprise. She was the widow of E. E. “Buck” Yancey and also predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Y. Carter, and son, James E. “Jimmy” Yancey. Mrs. Yancey is survived by two daughters, Betty Squier and husband, Lloyd, of Chesterfield, Marilyn Gregory of Boydton, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7:00-8:30 p.m. Sunday evening at Wood Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Wood Funeral Chapel, with interment in Woodland Cemetery.
