Mrs. Odell Carter Owen, 84, of Chase City, died December 31, 2009. She was a retired employee of Harris Teeter, a member of First Baptist Church and a long time choir member, a member of Chase City American Legion Post 43 Auxiliary and a member of Chase City Rescue Squad Auxiliary. She was the widow of Frank E. Owen and was predeceased by a son, Frank E. Owen, Jr. Mrs. Owen is survived by her children, Kay Lacy and husband, Bruce of Concord, NC, Ronnie Owen and wife, Ann of Skipwith, Bruce Owen and wife, Connie of Chase City, brothers, Pete Carter of Chase City, Drewey Carter and Preston Carter of Boydton, sister, Dean Gosney of Blackridge, seven grandchildren, Brandon Lacy, Kristina Ford, Matthew Owen, Tyler Owen, Blake Jones, Lindsey Jones, Alex Owen, and great grandchild, Owen Lacy.Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Burris and the Rev. Brandon Ives officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
