James Davis Broughman, 80, of Clarksville, died January 1, 2010. He was a retired employee with Burlington Industries, a member and elder of Public Fork Christian Church, and an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Juanita Broughman, daughters, Theresa Griles and husband John, of Red Oak, Sherry Collier and husband, Gary of Wylliesburg, granddaughters, Brittany Griles and Sara Thomas, several nieces. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Wood Funeral Service, and at all other times the home of Sherry and Gary Collier. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Public Fork Christian Church with Denis Fritz officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Public Fork Christian Church, 1700 Jeb Stuart Hwy., Red Oak, VA 23964 or Mecklenburg County Cancer Association, PO Box 383, South Hill, VA 23970. Dear Juanita, Theresa, Sherry and family,

I couldn't tell ya how many times I saw James sitting out in the yard and waved to him and he wave back at me. He was always a pleasure to talk to when I saw him out and about in years past.
