Lacy Edward Dodson, 91, of Chase City, died May 13, 2010. He was a WWII Navy veteran, member of American Legion Post 43 for over 60 years, a member of First Baptist Church, and an agent with 28 years of service with Home Beneficial Insurance Company. He was the widower of Marjorie P. Dodson and is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Larry Hite of Nelson, son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Gay Dodson of Clarksville, sister, Cornelia Baker of Randolph, three grandchildren, Stephen Hite, and fiancé, Amy Newton of Nelson, Amy Miano, and husband, Peter of Raleigh, NC, Brook Hatcher, and husband, James of Clarksville, 10 great grandchildren. His remains rest at Wood Funeral Service, however, the family will receive friends at the home at all times. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Service with the Rev. Brandon Ives officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 43. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 206 East Second St., Chase City, VA 23924. Wood Funeral Service, Chase City, is serving the family.
