Norman Addison “Norm” Kerr, age 82, departed this life on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Wednesday morning his cousin was notified by the hospital he had stopped breathing but they had done CPR and moved him to the ICU. As she left the house to go to the hospital it was pouring down rain. She said to herself “the angels are crying”. He never woke back up from the second surgery. A native of Punxsutawney, PA. Norman was a US Air Force jet mechanic. He later spent 7 years in Tucson, AZ. working as a service advisor for an Olds-Cadillac dealer. He then worked for 18 years at the Surry Power Plant in VA. He had been with Mecklenburg County for 13 years as a school bus driver when he passed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary B. Kerr; his mother, Ellen Kerr; and father, Oliver Kerr; sister, JoAnne Kerr; and brother, Fred Kerr. Survivors include his brother; Denny Kerr (Barb) ; sister, Millie Buffington (Dr. Gary), Judy Ingros (Jon); and his cousin and companion of 32 years, Sylvia Edmonds. He also leaves behind many friends in this area. A memorial service will be held at Wood Funeral Service Chapel 2:00 Saturday April 2, 2022. Wood Funeral Service is serving the family.
