Evelyn Watterson “Eve” Stagg made her final journey to eternal life December 11, 2015 at the age of 93, while residing at MeadowView Terrace in Clarksville, VA. She was born in Chase City, on July 2, 1922 and touched the lives of everybody she encountered throughout her years. She has truly been the hands and feet of the Lord throughout her life and she expressed her excitement to go home to the Lord and be whole and well again.
Mrs. Stagg made a career out of her love of antiques as an estate auction coordinator.

Her love of gardening was obvious in all the places she resided over her life, Richmond, VA, Clearwater FL, Virginia Beach, VA and Chase City, VA. She also touched the lives of many with her knowledge and passion of natural medicine.

 

Eve is survived by her son Randy Stagg and his wife Nadine of Dunnellon FL, one brother, Douglas Watterson of Chase City and two sisters, Christine Crowe of Chase City and Bonita Gupton of South Boston, VA, as well as 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren,  4 great-great grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Shual and Ennis Carter Watterson, her son, David Stagg and her daughter James E. (Jamie) Stagg. Also preceded in death by two brothers Wendell Ray Watterson of Chase City, Bruce Watterson of Virginia Beach, and two sisters WillieBell Martin of Charlotte, NC and Doris Newman of Chase City, as well as one grandchild.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday from  6:00 – 8:00 PM at Wood Funeral Service. A celebration of life graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Moore officiating.
