Lucille Tharpe Wilson, age 82, of Chesterfield VA, died April 4, 2018 and will forever be remembered by her family.  She was born April 26, 1935, in Jeffress, VA to the late Nannie Bet Shearin Wade and Delbert Yancey and lived in Chase City through early adulthood when she married the late Walter Arnold Tharpe.  Later she moved to Chesterfield where she owned and operated Wilson’s shoes for many years before retiring in 1997. She was a lifelong Methodist and most recently a member of Westhampton UMC. Lucille devoted many years of service to the local food pantry associated with Ivey Memorial UMC. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Tharpe Haga and husband, Bryan, and Donna Tharpe Castleberry, granddaughters, Christy Haga Turner and husband, David, and Jennifer Haga Perry and husband, Jason, and four great grandchildren, Sam and Ben Turner, and Haleigh and Joe Perry. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Bliley’s – Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road. A celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Westhampton UMC, 6100 Patterson Ave., Richmond, VA 23226. Interment to follow 3:30 p.m. in Woodland Cemetery in Chase City, VA.
