Lettie Hutchins Newsom, age 94, of Chase City, passed away February 3, 2019. She was the widow of Willie Newsom and also preceded in death by a daughter, Lottie Martin. Lettie was a retired co – owner of Newsom Monument Company and a longtime member of Black Branch Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Louise Dunaway and husband, Paul of Garner NC, Wade Newsom and wife, Stella of Chase City, Nellie Newton and husband, Richard of Chase City, and Sally Hebert and husband Mike, of Myrtle Beach SC, 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great – great grandchildren.  Services will be held at Wood Funeral Chapel Tuesday at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
