Earl Francis Racicot, age 87, of Chase City, went home to be with Jesus on May 15, 2020 after many years of overcoming heart problems. Earl worked at General Motors in Framingham, MA for 25 years until they closed the plant and retired him. His favorite times were with him and Carol riding motorcycles on vacations, day trips and to the top of Mt. Washington, NH. Earl loved to “invent” things out of his private scrap yard that would make life easier and more fun. Earl was proud to be member of Lake Country Community Church in Chase City and loved to tell about his lake baptism. He told people every day, “God loves you and so do I.” Earl’s life was like a rock thrown into a lake: sending ripples ever outward into the future. We had prayer and communion with our pastor, John Baughman, on Earl’s last day. Then a surprise visit from the Hospice Chaplin, Andrew, with his guitar singing some of Earl’s favorite hymns. The Lord spent the day preparing us for his parting. Earl and his wife Carol Ann Racicot (Johnson) had 50 amazing years together. There were 9 children brought into this relationship from their previous marriage. Phillip S. Sheridan and wife Karyn from Douglas, MA, Alice Tokarski in ME, Jeannette and Pete Cournoyer in South Carolina, Ruth Frazier in MA, Bonnie Rogers, Sharon Kolodziej, Glenn Racicot, Daniel Racicot and wife Sandy, all in R.I. and Clifford Racicot, deceased. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. His legacy will live on and make the world a better place. Ceremonies will be private. Wood Funeral Service is serving the family.
