Mrs. Virginia Francis Landes Keesee, wife of the late Thomas Taylor Keesee, joined her heavenly family on February 1, 2023. Mrs. Keesee was born in Staunton, Virginia on August 11, 1924, to Marjorie Sanger Landes and Hubert Landes. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton. She loved to play games, work puzzles, sew, and do all types of crafts. She made many beautiful quilts during her life and shared them with her family. She always had a pet and loved her dogs and her talking parrot Polly.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two daughters, Sandra Sue Keesee and Bonnie Keesee Daniels.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Carol Keesee Bowman and her husband, John Bowman. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Don Bowman, Carrie Bowman Lawrence, and Rachel Daniels. She was blessed with four great grandchildren, Sarah Lawrence, Tyler Bowman, Ethan Lawrence, and Teagan Bowman.
Mrs. Keesee moved to Chase City in 2000 after the death of her daughter and husband. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Chase City. Local services will be private.
