Munsey Adams Moore, 76, of Chase City, VA died Wednesday January 10th in his residence. Mr. Moore was born July 5th, 1947, in Roanoke, Virginia and was a graduate of Bluestone High School. He was a graduate of Roanoke College and a devoted member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. Munsey served the city he loved as a member of Chase City, city Council and volunteer fire fighter. He served as a magistrate for Mecklenburg County for many years. Mr. Moore served on the Vestry of St. Johns & St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church and was in the church choir. He was involved in the Chase City Little League Baseball as a coach and volunteer. Munsey was passionate about history, leading him to be an author and columnist. Mr. Moore is survived by his loving wife, Linda Moore of Chase City, Virginia; brothers, David Moore and wife, Betty of Virginia Beach, VA; Drew Moore of Cape Coral, Florida; cousin, Robert Moore and wife, Melanie of Fairhope, Alabama; sister-in-law, Nyhlia Moore of Addis, Louisiana; sons, Todd Gathings and wife, Julie of Dallas, Texas; Patrick Gathings and wife, Heather of Midlothian, Virginia; Jeff Gathings and wife, Amy of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; loving grandchildren Garrett, Jackson, Cole, John and Olivia.  Mr. Moore was preceded in death by Thomas Munsey Moore and Bernice Lee Thompson; brothers, Thomas Lee Moore and John Paul Moore. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2024, at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church 111 Sixth St. Clarksville, Va 23927.
