LaVerne W. Blankenship, age 83, of Chase City passed away February 6, 2024. She was a retired employee of STEPS and Hampco Apparel. LaVerne enjoyed gardening, sewing quilts, and her cats. She is preceded in death by a brother, Larry Williamson. Surviving is her husband of 67 years, Wayne Blankenship; children, Donna Coleman (Raymond), Mitch Blankenship (Kerry), Trudy Baugh (Tom); sisters, Bonnie Lamb, Sybil Robertson; sisters-in-law, Margie Williamson and Mary Ann Chisholm; grandchildren, Stephanie Inge, Christopher Coleman (Tammy); great grandchildren, Aiden Coleman, Dylan Coleman, Sydney Inge, and Jessa Inge. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Service Chapel with interment following at Woodland Cemetery.
