Roy Glenwood Gillispie, Sr., age 84, died December 23, 2013. He was a retired employee with Burlington Industries being the division planning manager with the finishing division with 41 years of service, an Army Korean veteran, a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a lifetime honorary deacon and also a Sunday School teacher. He is survived by his wife, Julia Anne McKinney Gillispie, son and daughter-in-law, Roy Glenwood Gillispie, Jr. and Lisa Applewhite Gillispie, grandsons, Grayson Edward Gillispie and Matthew Glen Gillispie and fiancée, Esther Petrizio, great granddaughter, Kaydence Rayne Gillispie, brother and sister-in-law, Wick and Dot Gillispie, sister in-law, Jennie Gillispie Elliott, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wood Funeral Service.
