Elson Wayne Maitland, Jr., 45, of Skipwith, Va. died September 26, 2014. He was an Army National Guard veteran, an employee of Parker Oil Company and a member of Freedom Life Church of God. He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Maitland, maternal grandparents, Swanson and Isabell Younger and paternal grandfather, Elson Bell Maitland. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Maitland, daughter Bianca Danielle Lawson and husband Dennis, stepchildren, Tarius Steed, Dishan Steed, Travis Hall and Terrell Hall, father, Elson Wayne Maitland, Sr. and stepmother, Mary, sisters, Donna Lopez and husband, Gregory, and Wanda Magann, nephews, Nicolas Lopez and Kyler Lopez, grandmother, Ida Maitland and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wood Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rodney Barwick officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
