Karen Greene passed away on August 12, 2023, of natural causes. She was 66 years old. Karen was born in Radford, VA and raised on a farm in Skipwith, Virginia by her parents, Donald and Irene Greene along with her brother and sisters. She went to business school in Richmond after high school and never left Richmond, which she loved. Karen lived a generous life and was always the center of fun and get togethers. Karen enjoyed giving tours in her car all over Richmond and she had a wealth of knowledge about it. Karen always loved to drive and her cars always had names. She loved to give presents and she loved picking them out and wrapping them extravagantly, as well. Karen went to breakfast every Saturday with her Breakfast Gang of friends and she loved going to Joe’s. Karen loved to read and to give away books. Karen was known to many as “Mama” because she was a mothering person to her friends and family! She was always in charge and she was good at it! Karen started working at Associated Physicians in 1976 and was working for Ensemble as Manager for Physician’s Follow Up when she died. Karen is survived by her sisters, Penny Paskoff (Stan), Susan Bochman (Bob), Mary Parker (Tommy), Denise Greene; her brother, Brian Greene (Rhonda); and her 8 nieces and nephews, John Bochman (Michelle), Jessica Greene, Andrew Bochman (Sara), Adam Greene, Sarah Clowdis (Rob), Nathan Parker (Crystal), Sam Paskoff and Laura Matson (Jeremy), as well as many great nieces and nephews. Karen was beloved and respected by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed. Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2023, at Wood Funeral Service, 28868 Hwy 49 Chase City, Va. 23924.
